Agreement and operator

Sidefold is a creator publishing, links, and automation service operated from Madrid, Spain. These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and Sidefold concerning your use of sidefold.co, app.sidefold.co, Sidefold-hosted creator pages and readers, and related services.

By creating an account or publishing through Sidefold, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you use Sidefold on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. You must be at least 18 years old or otherwise legally able to enter this agreement.

Accounts and access

You are responsible for maintaining control of the Google or Instagram account used to access Sidefold and for activity carried out through your Sidefold account. Provide accurate information, keep connected accounts secure, and notify us promptly at hello@sidefold.co if you suspect unauthorised access.

Sidefold may require reauthorisation when Google, Meta, or another provider expires or revokes access. You can withdraw a connected service’s access through that provider’s settings, but doing so may stop manuscript synchronisation or Instagram analytics.

Your manuscripts and publications

You retain ownership of manuscripts, images, covers, publication information, and other content you provide. You grant Sidefold a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, format, convert, display, distribute, and technically modify that content only as necessary to operate, secure, and promote the publications and features you choose to use. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for lawful records and limited backups.

You are responsible for your content and must have the rights needed to publish it. Content must not infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights; be unlawful, deceptive, defamatory, or malicious; or contain malware. Sidefold may remove or restrict content when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect people or the service, or enforce these terms.

External links and third-party transactions

Sidefold does not process reader payments for creator publications. Creators may publish free resources, collect leads, and link to retailers, affiliate networks, booking services, or other third parties.

Any purchase, payment, refund, delivery, tax, or dispute arising after a reader follows an external link is between the reader and the third-party seller or provider under that provider's terms. Creators are responsible for accurate link labels, required affiliate disclosures, and the lawfulness of the destinations they add.

Reader licence

Access to a free or email-gated publication grants the reader a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read and download the available edition for personal use. It does not transfer copyright. Unless the creator expressly permits it, readers may not redistribute files or private access links, remove rights notices or watermarks, or make the work publicly available.

Publications may be updated by their creator. Sidefold does not guarantee that every publication will remain available indefinitely, so readers should download permitted files when access is provided. Access may be disabled following abuse, a security finding, or violation of this licence.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse Sidefold, probe or bypass its security, interfere with other users, scrape the service at scale, access data without permission, upload malicious code, impersonate another person, manipulate analytics or referrals, use the service for unlawful commerce, or help others do any of these things. Do not use Sidefold-generated output to violate another person’s rights.

Connected and third-party services

Sidefold works with Google, Meta, Stripe for Sidefold subscriptions, Cloudflare, and other infrastructure providers. Your use of those services may also be governed by their terms and policies. Sidefold is not responsible for changes, outages, suspensions, or decisions made by a third-party service, but we will take reasonable steps to preserve or restore Sidefold functionality where practical.

Changes and availability

We may improve, add, remove, or discontinue features and may impose reasonable technical limits. We will provide reasonable notice when a material change is likely to significantly reduce paid functionality, unless urgent security, legal, or provider action prevents notice. Sidefold may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, incidents, or circumstances outside our control.

Disclaimers and liability

Sidefold is provided with reasonable care and skill, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, a particular commercial result, or preservation of the only copy of your work. Creators should retain their original manuscript and independent backups.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sidefold is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, loss caused by user content, or failures of connected services. For claims connected with paid Sidefold services, our aggregate liability will not exceed the fees you paid to Sidefold during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law, including liability that cannot be excluded and mandatory consumer rights.

Suspension, termination, and deletion

You may stop using Sidefold at any time and request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access for a material or repeated breach, unlawful conduct, security risk, non-payment, or where required by a provider or public authority. Where practical, we will explain the reason and allow an opportunity to fix the issue.

Termination ends your right to use the service but does not erase provisions that must reasonably survive, including ownership, reader licences, Sidefold subscription obligations, legal records, disclaimers, and liability limits. Data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you retain the mandatory protections and courts available under the law of your country of residence. For business users, the courts of Madrid, Spain have exclusive jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Please contact hello@sidefold.co first so we can try to resolve a concern informally. The European Commission’s former Online Dispute Resolution platform was discontinued in 2025, so these terms do not direct consumers to an inactive service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect product, legal, or provider changes. We will give reasonable notice of material changes through Sidefold or by email. Continued use after the effective date means the updated terms apply; if you do not agree, stop using Sidefold and request account deletion.
